We are a local Baptist church in the inner North of Canberra. We are made up of people from all stages of life, from little children, through to retirees. No matter who you are, what stage of life you are in, and where you are in your relationship with Jesus we want to invite you to come and join us.
Dickson Baptist Church is at 133 Cowper Street in the Dickson Shopping precinct. We meet each Sunday at 9:30am and 6pm. The morning service is also livestreamed on our website at 9:30 each Sunday.
There is ample parking in the Dickson Shopping centre between the library and the church and the parking is free on Sundays. There is also free parking at the Dickson Swimming Pool carpark across the road from the church.
On the 1st of July, 1961 a new church fellowship was planted in Ainslie. In 1964 the fellowship built the current building in Dickson, and was named the Dickson Baptist Memorial Church.
In the 60 years since, Canberra has grown and changed dramatically. The Dickson shopping precinct, the community facilities, the surrounding suburbs, and the recent high-rise developments have all grown up around us. We have inherited a history of mission and ministry in this place. Many faithful people over many years have invested time, energy and resources so that the gospel could be proclaimed, people would be served, and lives transformed.
By God’s grace we want to invest in the next chapter, carrying forward that mission and ministry for the years ahead.
